The ever so fashionable pushchair manufacturer Phil&Teds is about to launch a brand new in-line tandem buggy called the Phil&Teds Promenade. Phil & Teds pretty much invented the Inline tandem market and already have a great range of practical sporty products with the Explorer, The Vibe and Verve.

The new Promenade is a completely different to the rest of the all terrain style products in the Phil & Teds range and is packed with loads of extra features and options. The new Promenade  features a seat that converts into a lie-flat bed, and will adapt to take one or two children.

The Promenade looks fantastic as a single or a double pushchair but unlike the Phil & Teds Explorer, Vibe or Verve the Promenade gives you the option to have your baby parent facing.

It is a travel system pushchair that can be used with a seat or car seat in the main position and a second seat double kit attached above the back wheels.

New buggy seat features

The seats on earlier Phil&Teds pushchairs have sometimes lacked sophistication, but this new release addresses some of those previous shortcomings.

New seat features include:

Both Phil&Teds Promenade seats can convert to a lie flat bed

  • the main and double kit seats convert into lie-flat beds
  • the main seat can face the parent or forwards
  • the backrest of the main and double kit seats recline to three positions using just one hand
  • the main seat has a three position adjustable foot rest
  • the harness shoulder pads can be adjusted independently
  • the main sunhood has a zip-out extension to keep the sun out of baby’s eyes.

The pushchair also has an extendable sliding handle, dual front wheel suspension and a neat concertina fold mechanism.

My Verve arrived today and despite having a million & one things to do at home after the Easter break, I unpacked it, set it up and took it out for a test drive straight away. It is FAB! I’m so impressed with it, the 4 wheels make the handling effortless and I was gobsmacked when it literally glided over rough stones and gravel whilst I pushed one handed, Superb!

The little ones loved it too, the seats are very roomy, the DK in particular is a great size – and that recline facility is superb! Daniel won the battle for the rear seat rider position today and was fast asleep within minutes of setting off. To be able to recline him so easily when he did was fantastic, such a clever design and it’s definitely going to be an attractive feature of the Verve for many people.

The Verve is based on the uber cool, ever popular Phil and Teds Vibe but with a more uptown 4WD style going on. The Verve Inline Stroller takes the Vibe’s winning formula and adds a little va va voom, even though it’s 10% more compact that the Vibe which is amazing!

The addition of the fourth wheels adds extra stability but with front tyre suspension and a rear tyre innertube air-filled system, it makes for an even more comfortable ride for your children.

The Phil & Teds  ‘Seat Performance’ System has been introduced on the Verve, and the single recline optional double kit from the Vibe is replaced with a three position recline. Not only that there is also the special ‘Sleep Ideal’ Layback Ultra Snoozy angle of 34 Degrees to encourage your child to rest!.

Phil and Teds new Smart Buggy Is it as smart as they say

Its a baby are a big fan of all the Phil & Ted practical inline buggies so when we initially heard about the launch of the new smart buggy we were amazed and excited all at the same time !

The smart buggy promised to a complete travel system, lightweight at between 5kg – and 7kg depending on the attatchments that you would be using with it, Hypo-allergenic, waterproof with a ventilated seat AND stylish as well as having a flat and compact folding position – and all for £150 ! What more could you ask for ??

When the box arrived in store it was very compact and I eagerly unpacked the box and as i always do i arranged all the pieces and instructions in front of me like a flat pack expert and normally after 5 mins i need to call for someone else to help me figure out how to piece all the parts toghether.  BUT the opening mechanism was so simple – all you have to do is unlock the saftey catches and push the legs down.  The wheels slotted straight onto the chassis and hey presto the smart buggy was ready to go !! The easy assemble had me convinced at this point but i was a little unsure about the seat unit, at a first glance it looks a little space age and the foam materiel looks plastic and hard but on inspection the seat materiel is actually very soft and springy and moulds around the child when sat in the seat.   The ventilation holes are genius perfect for thoose warm sticky weeks in summer and easy to wipe all the biscuit crums out of !

The system can also be used from birth with the use of the penut carrycot. Perfect for thoose sensible mums who want a lightweight compact travel system.
