Looking Cool with the Britax B Dual

Just because you have a baby on board is no reason to forget about fashion — looking chic and stylish whilst pregnant is simply a case of learning to dress differently, making sure you always flatter your ever changing shape.

Thinking about your wardrobe with this in mind can also mean rediscovering old items by approaching them differently and might save you a bit of cash and a few trips to the high street to buy maternity-specific clothing.

Some key styles to keep an eye out for are:

  • Empire-line cut – this will cinch in the area just below the bustline and provide a flattering silhouette with material grazing over the baby bump. If you don’t have this style in your current wardrobe then floaty tops and dresses can be adapted to an empire line by pulling in the material below the bustline with a ribbon or belt.

  • Soft draping fabrics – clothing in this style will define the body shape and also looks really pretty. Skirts and dresses with plenty of swing in them and tops with fabric that falls from on or under the bustline and finish at the hips or beyond work perfectly.

  • Block-colours – simple single-block colours rather than busy prints and crazy colours streamline your figure making it look taller and leaner. Buying new items of clothing or re-organising your wardrobe with this in mind also means everything goes together and can be reworked with different pieces, creating different outfits and looks quickly and easily.

  • You can keep wearing your regular jeans and trousers for longer with the help of a Belly Belt – a piece of fabric that fastens to your button or clasp and lets the waistband of your bottoms grow with your bump
