Silver Cross are about to launch their new range of pop buggies. For 2010 they have introduced a new variation of the range called the POP Sport, which they describe as the GTi of the pop range. The new Pop sport comes in 5 fabulous colours – Aubergine, Poppy (red), Pepper (black), Canvas (beige), and Bluebell. It shares many of the standard features you may be familiar with on the original pop, now known as the pop classic, but comes in a little cheaper at just £100 rrp.
The pop classic is still available in Ebony and the very popular Charcoal but now has been joined by Domino a dark polka dot fabric. The pop classics have a few more features that the sport, such as a cup holder and harness pads and has a recommended retail price of £120 (rrp).
The “top of the pop range” is the Pop Vogue which also has some new colourways for 2010. There is Iced Chocolate (brown and mint), Coffee and Cream (brown and cream) as well as Moonlight and Bon Bon. Silver Cross have also kindly added one of their luxury baby nests to the list of accssories including which make this a great choice of stroller from birth to toddler. The pop vogues have a recommended retail price os £140.
We are also expecting the limited edition pop damask. Silver Cross have not released any images of this product yet but I took a picture at the trade show that can be viewed below.
Finally there is the POP duo, a great side by side twin buggy. The two footmuffs are supplied as standard as well as two headhuggers, the cup holder, raincover and shopping bag so at an rrp of £240 this is really good buy. The pop duo will be available in Red as well as black but Silver Cross don’t get these into the country until July 2010.

If you know you are having a baby girl take a look at the new Silver Cross fabric called Sugared almonds. It is soooooo pretty but not too “in your face” pink. Both the Sleepover Deluxe and the 3D vogue now come in the sugared almonds colour and with both prams you get the most delightful change bag included as part of the package. You can just about see the change bag in the picture below.
On the matching ventura car seat there is pretty little pink flower just to make it extra girly!

The surf has been a massive hit in our store, customer reaction to the product has been exceptional. Quite rightly so! It looks absolutely fantastic and has all the features and benefits you could want. Once you have decided that this is the travel system for you, that it meets all your needs and fits perfectly with your lifestyle there are still a few decisions to make. Let us walk you through them……
First of all you need to decide between the three chassis and seat units that are available:
The seat units are supplied complete with the beautiful luxury baby snug, which make this pushchair seat suitable from birth.
Once you have chosen the chassis and seat there are 7 colour options for the “essential pack”. It’s a great name for this product as it is truely essential that you buy it as it contains the pram hood, apron, seat liner and parasol. The essential pack is available in black, slate and linen to match the seat units as well as Lime, Lilac, Chilli red and Tangerine if you are looking to inject some colour into your pushchair. For those cold days there is a Surf snug, which is basically Silver Cross’s version of a footmuff or you may prefer to keep your baby warm with one of the fleece or knitted blankets.
Although as previously mentioned the Surf seat unit is suitable for your baby from birth there is also a carrycot option to turn your pushchair into a pram. Obviously there is an added cost to the carrycot that you could argue is an unecessary cost when you already have a from birth seat but there are some key benefits to owning a carrycot. The carrycot is suitable for occassional overnight sleeping so if you are staying away from home with friends or family the surf carrycot can double as your babies moses basket for the night. Babies tend to sleep a lot in the early months so when you are off on a long walk or a shopping trip the carrycot is the perfect place for your baby to be lay flat while he or she is sleeping.
The carrycots are available to match each of the chassis options. Here’s an Its a Baby top tip- The hood supplied on the carrycot can be used on your pushchair, so if you also buy a coloured essential pack you have the option of either using a hood that matches in with your seat unit or the hood to match the rest of your essential pack giving your surf 2 different looks.
Ok, so you’ve chosen your chassis and seat, you’ve made a decision whether to invest in a carrycot and have selected the essential pack colour. Now we move onto car seats!
The Surf has a Silver Cross Ventura plus compatible car seat that slots directly onto the chassis and again this comes in the three colours to match the chassis and base fabrics (black /slate, silver/black and gun metal/linen) however Silver Cross will be making some Maxi Cosi adaptors available from September onwards so that means that as well as the Ventura that you can have your pick from the Maxi Cosi infant carrier range- That’s the Cabriofix and new Pebble. This is a very pragmatic move by silver cross as they don’t have an isofix car seat base for their own car seat at the moment. In our store this has been a show stopper for many customers in the past who would have purchase a silver cross product if they could also have an isofix base. The car seat bases are of course another add on purchase but from experience I can tell you that they do make life a lot easier, simply clicking your car seat in and out can be a god send! However it is also important to point out that it is perfectly safe to use a seat belt to securely fit the infant carriers in your car but do please make sure that you visit a nursery store in person for some tuition from a trained member of staff. Here at Its a Baby we are more than happy to teach our mums, dads, grandparents, aunties, uncles and who ever else you may enturst with your baby, to secure your car seat safely and securely.
Ok, I think you are now good to go. Thats the chassis and seat unit selected, the essential pack, the carrycot option, the car seat, the snug and the fantasic silver cross blankets.

This year Silvercross seem to have thought of everything and have introduced an upgrade – the 3D vogue. The 3d Vogue has all the standard features of the 3D classic but with a a little extra luxury built in. Its has an aluminium, highly polished Vogue frame that is available in a range of finishes and luxury fabrics. The 3D vogue is supplied with luxury changing bags, footmuffs and a hanging toy, creating a pushchair that ensures you and baby stand out in the crowd. Available in 3 new and exciting colours Iced Chocolate which is deep brown with a light green minty trim, the fun domino print and the adorable Sugared almond – you cant resist !!
The Mutsy range comprises of 3 pushchair systems: the Rider system, which offers the complete versatility , the Slider system that is characterised by its trendy look and easy to use compact foldable frame, and the Transporter system, a useful and compact pushchair.
