Its a baby – The only Greater Manchester Mountain Buggy Stockist

January 29th, 2010

Its been no secret that it was a difficult year for mountain Buggy as the company went into administration at the end of January, the rest of 2009 was spent wondering what would happen to the new Zealand based company.

Thankfully Phil and Ted saved the day and bought Mountain Buggy. The new bigger better company has ambitious plans and with an impressive shared knowledge base they plan to continue leading the way on research and development in the all terrain buggy market segment. It’s a Baby are pleased to announce that we have joined the exclusive club as an appointed Mountain Buggy stockist. We have been approved as a stockist along with a relatively small number of independant retailers around the UK and will be the only mountain Buggy stockist in Greater Manchester.

The new 2010 range includes all the previous mountain Buggy features as well as now being a lighter and slightly narrower system- losing 5 cm in width on each model, which improves maneuverability around town and makes it easy to get through most doorways.  The fabrics are available in a full range of bright funky colours as well a the more traditional black and flint options.  The complete mountain Buggy range now includes Bumper bars and a new improved fabric, giving you even more reasons to choose a mountain Buggy System.

The 2010 collection contains 3 new improved models.

The Mountain Buggy Swift, which is super light and is the most compact of all the new models, it has all the all terrain comforts but the flexability to move swiftly and easily around town.

The mountain Buggy Urban Jungle is engineered for the mountains, with 12″ wheels and rear suspension i cant imagine anywhere that you are your baby wont be able to go.

The final system in the new 2010 Mountain Buggy range is the Mountain Buggy Duo – An Its a baby favourite.  We love the  new sleek compact design and find it to be one of the slimmer side by side double buggies, the new 2010 Duo has indivudual sun hoods which we think are a great feature, giving each child a little privacy if they are sleeping or not feeling themselves that day this feature allows the mountian Buggy Duo to be good choice for parents with multi age siblings as well as twins.

It’s a Baby love the Mountain Buggy new range -  But we are not the only ones to like them….

Silvercross Classic Toy Collection

January 28th, 2010

All the it’s a baby girls have fallen in love with new Silvercross Classic Toy collection – It’s hard for anyone not to.  The classic collection contains a range of traditional toys that has all the attention to detail that you expect from any Silvercross Product.   The Malham bear is super soft and snugly and perfectly sized for tiny hands.  I challenge anyone to walk past him without giving him a little stroke.

The Helmsley Bear has an antique feel about him with his jointed head, arms and legs and his beautiful dark brown colour means he can join in all he fun without getting to mucky.  The perfect companion to take on all daily adventures your little one may have.

My personal favourite is the adorable Silvercross Bronte Rag Doll – she comes beautifully presented in gift box which can be personalised with a little message and has removable clothes for dressing up fun.  The Bronte Doll has not only made The Telegraphs top 5 traditional toy list this year but made the perfect present for my 18 month old God Daughter who always has her firmly tucked under one arm !

New Maxi Cosi Family Fix Collection

January 22nd, 2010

We are very excited about the family fix collection.  Maxi Cosi has fantastic reputation for producing reliable easy to  fit car seats.  Many of them have unique features to ensure that you can find the right car seat for your family.

The new family fix collection is no different, the family fix isofix base uses sound and light indicators to confirm that the car seat is correctly installed – Simply click and go.  The family fix base can also be used with two consecutive age car seats taking you right up to 3.5 years (0-18kg) currently making this the only base that can be used past the infant carrier.

The family fix base uses an isofix attachment point to securely anchor the car seat into the car.  The base can then be used with the Uk’s best selling infant carrier, the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix, or the latest addition to the Maxi cosi family, the Pebble infant carrier. The new pebble is packed with great features including:

  • Simple click into family fix base and go.
  • Light and sound indicators
  • Innovative stay open harness lets you place and secure your baby in seconds.
  • adjustable Harness and head hugger
  • Anti misuse belt routing prevents incorrect fitting.
  • Integral sun canopy
  • Unique adjustable upward position for older babies ( when used with family fix base)

To maximise the usage and cost effectiveness of the package, the base continues to be used with the Maxi Cosi Pearl car seat (9-18kg) which features:

  • One click attachment on the maxi cosi Family Fix Base
  • Innovative stay open harness lets you place and secure your baby in seconds
  • Compact design to fit easily into your car
  • Harness and Headrest adjustment to that the pearl can grow with your child
  • Side protection system to offer optimal protection against side impact

Both the Pebble and Pearl are available in 7 new and exciting stone and gem inspired colours, and include new look footmuffs and blankets easily making them one of the most stylish choices available.

To finish the collection and to keep your little ones entertained whilst travelling Maxi cosi have also introduced the adorable Travel buddys Sam, Max and Lisa and a fantastic travel play tray for the Pearl.

Nipper 360 & Nipper 360 Double Wins another Gold Award!

January 20th, 2010

2010 has started with an increase in interest and sales on the Nipper 360 and Nipper 360 Double products thanks to yet another GOLD award from the consumer press. Following on from last year’s Mother & Baby GOLD award the Nipper 360 and Nipper 360 Double have now added Practical Parenting’s endorsement with the following awards

2009 / 2010 – Best Three Wheeler  GOLD Award

“There’s a lot to love about the Out ‘n’ About Nipper 360 single. For starters, assembly is a doddle. An easy click of the wheels and a quick flip of the handle allow you to get going quickly. The seat reclines fully and has mesh ventilation panels on the back and sides, which makes it very climate controllable. The handle is padded with a thick foam layer so long walks seem like a stroll around the block. A pad for the seat can be added for extra comfort and warmth for your child and the 5-point harness is secure and sturdy.”

 2009 / 2010 – Best Double Buggy GOLD Award

“It’s really light and easy to steer, and has plenty of room in it for two toddlers. The price is really reasonable for what you get, and it looks stylish and sporty enough for dads to be happy to push it! It’s also comfy and safe enough for newborn twins”

One of the big advantages of the Nipper 360 is the size of the wheels: it really is true all-terrain buggy and is great for the adventures outdoor types. The big wheels and the suspension give the children a really comfy ride. It’s called ‘360’ because the front wheel swivels (although you can lock it if you want to), and this really does make it a breeze to steer: it’s more manoeuvrable than many single buggies, and you can even push it with one hand. The handle height is nice and high – good for Dads – although it’s not adjustable so it may be a little high if you’re short.

The Nipper hood is substantial and comes down nice and low, so its good for protecting delicate skin from the sun or wind. The raincover is also great and covers the whole pushchair. It doesn’t have a frame so it folds down really small, and fits in one of the back pockets.

In between the two seats there is a divider which gives tiny babies their own separate space to fall asleep in and it also stops older children nudging and disturbing each other. The seats recline to a fully flat positon which makes the Nipper Double 360  suitable for new born babies. The cosy toes are an ad on accessory but most customers tell us that they are worth the extra money.  You can also buy head huggers to make it even more secure for small babies. The head huggers are also an ad on accessory but there are a lot of people who buy the Nipper Double 360 for older children or for baby and toddler so I suppose it would be a bit wasteful to include it as standard. The only other ad on to consider is the shopping basket. Its a shame that this isn’t included as it is a nice size and is really a must have item if you use your nipper for shopping around town. Apparently Out n About don’t offer this accessory as standard so that it can be used on rocky terrain or going up mountains, without anything dragging on the ground below the seats. This is a fair point, but I’d say more parents will be using it day to day for trips to the shops than for going up big hills!

The Nipper Double folds down really easily, although you have to remember to fasten the locks on each side to stop it folding down again once it’s upright. This is a safety feature, and is a really good idea to make it safe for off-roading. Another safety feature is the fact that the seats don’t sit fully upright – this stops toddlers tipping forwards if you’re going down a steep hill. This can seem a bit strange for toddlers who are used to being bolt upright in other buggies.
