The world’s first inline buggy just got better!
It’s a Baby are pleased to announce the pending arrival of Phil & Teds latest fantastic product. The new Explorer buggy will be replacing the sport buggy and will be arriving in store with us at the end of August.
In an instant it is visually obvious that the Explorer comes from the P&T stable; svelte black tubular steel chassis, white wall tyres and that unmistakable silhouette. However, there are a raft of changes that have improved the Sport beyond all recognition to create the new Explorer.
The key features in a nutshell:
- You simply pull and slide to to operate the fantastic one hand fold mechanism and it locks into place effortlessly!
- There is a large follow the sun sunhood as well as a sun hood on the second seat.
- The brand new contoured vented seat performance system provides increased postural sport for your child as well as a one hand recline and interchangeable coloured seat liners.
- The easy to use pedal break is just a massive improvement on the stiff old sport buggy break
- The new double kit and travel system adaptors give you the flexibility to safely mount a maxi cosi car seat onto the chassis of the Explorer
Now to the all important colours, the Explorer will be available in 5 colours, black and red, Black and Grey, Navy and Grey, Black and Green and all Green. Once we have some images later this week we will post them on the blog as soon as possible. Is your child safe in your car?
Cars are made for adults but its the car seat that protects your child in the event of an accident. Unrestrained children run seven times the risk of serious injury or death compared to children who are properly secured in a child car seat. A child car seat offers something children are entitled to – protection of their lives and safe travel at all times!
Over the last few years, awareness of parental responsibility over such matters has become increasingly widespread however, the best possible protection is only provided if the right safety system is chosen, all regulations and instructions for fitting the child car seats are properly complied with and the child itself is fastened into the seat correctly. Unfortunately 89% of child car seats are fitted incorrectly and this carelessness can have serious consequences.
The Legal Regulations
Since May 2006, it is compulsory to use safety belts and child restraint systems in all vehicles in Europe (Directive 2003/20/EC) and in the UK it is mandatory to use child car seats for children up to the height of 1.35m ( 4ft, 4 )or the age of 12.
Choosing the right system for each age group
European experts have established six groups for child restraint systems, which are defined according to the child’s weight:
• Group 0 for babies weighing up to 10kg (about 9 months)
• Group 0+ for babies weighing up to 13kg (about 15 months) – Rearward-facing systems must not be used on passenger seats with an active airbag.
• Group 1 for small children weighing 9 to 18kg (from about 9 months to 4 years of age)
• Group 2-3 for older children weighing 15 to 36kg (from about 4 to 11 years of age)
• Group 0+&1 for babies and small children weighing up to 18kg (about 4 years of age)
• Group 1-2-3 for small children and older children – 9 to 36kg (from about 9 months to 11 years of age)
Booster seats
A basic booster seat falls within the group 2-3 category and enables you to comply with the law, they are extremely cheap to pick up however they offer very little protection for your child compared to a high back boosters seat and it is common for children to fall off their booster seat when turning corners. With a full high back booster seat you are providing your child with side impact protection, head protection and a mechanism that positions the seat belt correct around their body. 1 in 4 accidents are side collisions and side collisions put children at specific risk as they account for 1 in 5 car crash fatalities.

How to Build your Baby Jogger City Select Stroller?

Step1
Start off with the main stroller purchase. The City Select Stroller Chassis with seat Combo. This stroller is a must have to start your purchase, and from here you can move on to adding accessories.
The City Select Stroller is available in 3 great colour options.
The City Select Stroller in Onyx. – The Onyx colour is a real sharp looking black colour. This has been the most popular colour of all the city select strollers so far. Will keep clean the easiest and is very sharp looking.
The City Select Stroller – Ruby is a great choice for a fun, funky ride. Its really a very nice deep red colour that is very eye catching and exciting.
Lastly, the city select stroller is available in the City Select Diamond Stroller colour. The diamond colour is absolutely lovely, however not so great for hiding the dirt compared to the onyx black and ruby red. If you can somehow keep it clean, the City Select Diamond is gorgeous!.
Step 2
Pick Out Your Additions to your stroller.

The Baby Jogger Carrycots are available in Onyx, Ruby and Diamond. If you have twins then get Creative, its not necessary to get the same colour carrycots as your stroller as the chassis is neutral and you never see the carrycots and the seat unit together.
If you are having twins it is possible to use two carrycots or 2 car seats together for both babies! (See Photos combinations!)
The baby Jogger City Select is compatible with the Maxicosi Cabriofix and Pebble car seats.
Step 3
Accessories!
The City Select Bug Canopy will keep your baby protected from all bugs and flies!
The Baby Jogger City Select Child Tray will allow you to turn your stroller into feeding time easily! Be careful not to get your stroller to dirty though!
The City Select Rain Canopy will keep your little ones protected and dry!.

I have been waiting for the sugured Almond 3Ds and Sleepovers to arrive in store since seeing them for the first time at the Babyshow in Harrogate. The new fabric has been so popular that we have been taking pre orders since the first pictures were placed on the blog a few months ago.
If im honest im not a big fan of pink prams. Im a girly girl but find that most shades of pink on prams are really gaudy and barbie looking, one might even say a little cheap !! But Silvercross have managed to get it right first time …. Of course we wouldnt expect anything else from them !!
As always the package includes everything you need to start using the pram the same day with both apron and footmuffs to suit whichever mode you are using.
The changing bag is absoloutly Gorgeous … i think i might be sneaking on of thoose home with me when no one is looking !!

Its a baby are pleased that Chicco has arrived in store. Chicco do a fantastic range of baby products from prams and pushchairs to highchairs and bouncers and every bottles and the everyday accessories that baby might need.
One of our immediate favourites was the Polly Magic Highchair which is suitable from birth as a newborn chair and can then be used as a high chair from 6 months when you start weaning. The highchair has 6 different heights which means that mother and baby can find the right position for everything, and you can adjust baby to maintian eye contact whereever you may be in the room – How handy !!!
